Around and About

The Island has miles of pristine coastline and beaches which are home to grey seals, otters, dolphins and whales. Colonsay is also a birdwatchers paradise with choughs, corncrakes and golden eagles to look out for. The north of the island has wild goats and there are many ancient and ecclesiastical buildings, chapels and monuments dotting around the island.

The hills of the island are gentle and ideal for walkers/ cyclists of all abilities including children. Trout fishing can also be enjoyed.

Directions

Colonsay is served by a Caledonian MacBrayne car ferry service which sails from the Port of Oban every day from 29th March to 24th October and four times a week at other times of the year. The crossing takes 2.5 hours. There are also return flights to and from Oban every week on a Tuesday and Thursday.
