Welcome to Pondside Cottage on the Isle of Colonsay, a charming family retreat set in a sunny and sheltered garden close to beautiful walks and cycle rides. Short breaks are welcome and the cottage is also dog friendly.
The cottage has a cosy lounge with open fire, comfortable sofa, easy chair and adjacent kitchen. The dining table has a round suite and there is a further breakfast table in the kitchen. Modern kitchen facilities include a fridge/ freezer, dishwasher, oven, hob and microwave.
The cottage has one double double and one twin bedroom, both attic rooms with dormer windows. There is a single sofa bed to the ground floor along with a bathroom with shower. A utility room houses another WC.
The garden is sunny and sheltered with a patio and outdoor furniture. There is also parking available.
Electricity is payable by a meter reading taken at the end of your stay.
Short breaks are welcome. Dogs may be accepted at an extra charge.
The cottage can sleep up to four adults or a family of two adults and three children.
The Island has miles of pristine coastline and beaches which are home to grey seals, otters, dolphins and whales. Colonsay is also a birdwatchers paradise with choughs, corncrakes and golden eagles to look out for. The north of the island has wild goats and there are many ancient and ecclesiastical buildings, chapels and monuments dotting around the island.
The hills of the island are gentle and ideal for walkers/ cyclists of all abilities including children. Trout fishing can also be enjoyed.
Colonsay is served by a Caledonian MacBrayne car ferry service which sails from the Port of Oban every day from 29th March to 24th October and four times a week at other times of the year. The crossing takes 2.5 hours. There are also return flights to and from Oban every week on a Tuesday and Thursday.
