Fishermen’s Retreat is a four star cottage in Tucking Mill, a tiny hamlet only 15 minutes’ drive from Bath City centre. The property still retains much of its original period charm and it’s perfect for a romantic break, honeymoon or just a great weekend away for two friends. There’s plenty of opportunities to get active with walking and cycling routes, and fly fishing at the nearby babbling brook. While the cottage is self-catering, there are a couple of independent pubs close by serving delicious home cooked food.
The cottage is one of four that was originally built for Somerset Canal workers in the late 1800s. Inside is a master bedroom with a king size bed, this can also be arranged as two twins. There’s also a welcoming lounge with wood burning stove, flat screen TV, DVD player, iPod dock and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped, featuring a hob, oven, grill, washing machine and dishwasher. Free Wi-Fi, off-road parking and secure cycle storage is provided.
To the rear of Fishermen’s Retreat is a south-facing garden with BBQ, table and chairs. It overlooks the beautiful Midford Valley, guaranteeing a stunning view when you’re dining al fresco.
