Welcome to The Old Shippon Holiday Cottage near Holsworthy, a characterful and family friendly stone built property surrounded by the beautiful countryside of North Devon and situated close to the coast of North Cornwall.
An idyllic base for a family break, the cottage offers 'upside-down' accommodation to make the most of the beautiful views and the exposed beams are a characterful link to the cottage's previous life as a old farm building. On those cooler days, enjoy relaxing in front of the wood burner stove or in summer, seating and a barbecue are supplied in the peaceful landscaped gardens.
The living accommodation is location on the first floor and offers a contemporary seating area with flat screen TV & iPod dock. There is a family dining area seating six and a modern kitchen well equipped for your self catering holiday.
The kitchen included modern appliances including a large oven, halogen hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave and a fridge/freezer.
To the ground floor there are two double bedrooms, one with an ensuite, and a family bathroom. There is also a further twin bedroom on this floor. The cottage boasts underfloor heating and is fully double glazed to keep it warm and cosy all year round.
Old Shippon is set on a sprawling 54 acre farm, and is surrounded by open farmland, grasslands and meadows. At the front of the property there is a landscaped private garden, and is fully enclosed with outdoor furniture, a patio, barbecue and lawn.
All towels, linen and utility charges are included in the rental price. A selection of games, books and DVDs are provided to help keep the kids entertained as well as WiFi for those of you who like to keep on top of your emails or to upload your great holiday photos!
Family amenities including a cot and high chair are supplied by prior arrangement. We accept two well behaved dogs at our cottage, for an additional charge of £25 per dog, to be paid when booking.
The cottage is available for week long bookings commencing on a Friday. Three night + stays are also available off peak. Please contact us for full availability and the best prices.
Dunsdon Farm is located in the rural countryside, and is surrounded by beautiful meadows, grassland, conservation areas and designated walking paths.
North Devon is a popular holiday destination for outdoor enthusiasts, with Dunsdon National Nature Reserve adjoining the farm. Watersport activities are also available at Tamar Lakes in Bradworthy, just 2 ½ miles away. Try your hand at sailing, windsurfing and kayaking, and is ideal for fun family day out.
The village of Bradworthy is just 5 miles from the farm, and here you can pick up all the essentials for your stay. Further afield in Bude, Cornwall, there is a dog- friendly beach 7 miles from the farm. There are also a number of popular restaurants in the nearby towns of Holsworthy and Kilkhampton.
From Holsworthy: Take the A3072 west for 4.8km, turn right to Pancrasweek. Follow this road north for 3.8km ignoring any side turns. Arrive at Dunsdon Farm (8.6km.)
