About Burry Longhouse & Cottage

Burry Holiday Cottages offer two beautiful, 4-star self-catering holiday cottages located within the 5 acre grounds of Burry Court, Burry Green in North Gower.  Spectacular Llangennith beach is only 2 miles away. The Burry Longhouse is a traditional half-timbered Gower Longhouse believed to date back to the 15th century, and Burry Cottage, also dating back to the 15th century, is a delightful traditional stone cottage. The holiday cottages are surrounded by the unspoiled Gower countryside and provide luxury self-catering accommodation, perfect for those seeking peaceful, relaxing breaks.

Burry Holiday Cottages are conveniently situated within easy reach of all the bays and ideally placed to enjoy all the pleasures of the peninsula of Gower, Britain's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For those wanting to explore further afield, our holiday cottages also have easy access to many of the area's attractions, including Pembrey Country Park, Kidwelly Castle, Dan Yr Ogof Caves, the Welsh National Museum, and the city of Swansea with its 4 golf courses and interesting range of museums and art galleries.

Our holiday cottages are beautifully furnished and decorated, and still retain many of their original features. Both holiday cottages are equipped with spacious living rooms, fully-fitted kitchen/diners for self-catering, comfortable double bedrooms (Burry Longhouse has a double and twin), and fully-fitted bathrooms.

Directions

Burry Court is only 20 minutes off the M4, Junction 47.

Travelling from the east approaching Swansea we recommend you stay on the M4 motorway signed for Carmarthen, and not follow signs to Swansea and Gower at earlier junctions unless you are familiar with the route.

  • From the West - remain on the M4 motorway heading to Swansea. Exit at Junction 47, signed for the A484 Swansea West and services.
  • Take the A483 exit off the roundabout at Junction 47 (the dual carriageway).
  • Take a right turn at the next roundabout on to new road signed the A484 to Llanelli/ Gower.
  • At the second (next) roundabout continue straight on following signs for Llanelli/ Gower.
  • At the third (next) roundabout take a left onto the B4296 signed for Gowerton and Gower.
  • Go under a low bridge.
  • At the lights take a right onto the B4295 signed for Penclawdd/ Gower.
  • Continue on through Penclawdd for 3 miles, then on to Llanrhidian (4 miles).
  • Straight through Llanrhidian, and follow signs for Llangennith.
  • Continue straight on through Old Walls for 1 mile, then after the Greyhound pub take a left fork.
  • Burry Green is 1 mile further along. After the double bend, dip down into the valley fork right.
  • Burry Court, the Longhouse and Cottage are on the right hand side, 100 metres on from the Burry Green sign.
  • You've arrived - enter the driveway before the main house and through double wooden gates to a guest parking area. The Longhouse is on the left and the Cottage is on the right.
