Perfect for families, Nuthatch Lodge is one of our four award-winning ecolodges, surrounded by our 21 acre North Devon Farm. The lodge has a furnished veranda with pretty views across surrounding grassland and Dartmoor beyond. No need to leave the family pet behind - up to 2 dogs are welcome in Nuthatch. Families will adore our fun farm holiday experience, with lots to do and explore onsite including our 7 acre nature reserve, a boat on the pond during the summer season, play areas, swings and BBQ space. A farm shop selling a range of local Devon produce is just up the road, and several inns serving food are within cycling distance. Enjoy fun days playing volleyball or badminton on the mown court, fishing on our pond or a family BBQ close to our camp fire site. You are also welcome to use our free bikes available in a range of sizes.
A cosy family and dog friendly holiday lodge accommodating 4 to 6 guests.
Enjoy a fantastic Devon fun family farm holiday here at Wheatland Farm. Kids love our acres of space, and there is lots to do onsite from fishing and exploring the nature reserve to wild swimming during summer. Up to two well trained dogs are welcome in Nuthatch Lodge, and dogs are allowed access to all areas of the farm except the 7 acre nature reserve.
Nuthatch Lodge is available February to October plus Christmas and New Year (our Otter Cottage and Balebarn Lodge are available all year round). Short breaks are also available, except during 6 weeks in the summer school holidays.
On booking we email detailed directions to guests from the M5 at Tiverton, and via Eggesford, as well as from the A30 East and West, via Widdon Down and North Tawton. Wheatland Farm Eco Lodges and Cottage sit just outside the pretty Saxon village of Winkleigh (which has two great village pubs!).
From Winkleigh village, take the A3124 north, continue past the recreation ground just on your right. Turn off at the sharp left hand bend and follow the signpost for Chulmleigh. After about half a mile you will pass Fiona's farm shop just to your left. The farm is just on the right, about half a mile further on from the farm shop. Continue on down the track (not through the gates to the cottage on the road). Pass our next door neighbour's bungalow and the car park for the ecolodges. To reach the farmhouse and collect your keys, keep going until you get to the end of the drive and the main farmhouse (white) - our front door is just down some steps (ring if these are a problem and we'll come out and meet you). Welcome scones on arrival!
