Honeysuckle Lodge is one of four ecolodges and a cottage on our 21 acre award-winning farm between Dartmoor and the North Devon Coast. Perfect for couples, the ecolodge has big south facing windows and a furnished veranda overlooking grasslands and Dartmoor beyond. The lodge is a real hideaway retreat during spring and autumn, and in summer is also a favourite with families. Activities and facilities on the farm include fishing on our smaller pond, boating on the big wildlife pond (and wild swimming for the brave) plus lots of space for barbecues. We have a 7 acre nationally-recognised nature reserve where we're always delighted to take you on a free guided walk. There's a kids play area. You can bring along two well behaved dogs if you are staying in Honeysuckle, and expect welcome scones on arrival.
A cosy ecolodge surrounded on 3 sides by trees and with lovely views. Sleeps 4 to 6.
Cosy Honeysuckle Lodge is the perfect off peak retreat for couples, within easy cycling distance of village inns on our tandem! A great farm shop selling a range of fine local Devon produce is just next door on a neighbouring farm. Wine deliveries are also available, delivered straight to your lodge door by a local wine supplier. Explore the nature reserve, enjoy a BBQ and relax on the veranda or around the camp fire. Short breaks are available all year round (except for a few weeks during peak summer) - ideal for that special romantic break.
Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome in Honeysuckle Lodge, and dogs are allowed across the farm except in the nature reserve area. We also do request that dogs are kept away from our hens and livestock. A wide choice of dog friendly walks are direct from your ecolodge door.
Honeysuckle Lodge and our other ecolodges and cottage are available to book all year round, individually or together for larger groups. Short breaks are also offered all year, except in a six week period during the school summer holidays.
On booking we email detailed directions to guests from the M5 at Tiverton, and via Eggesford, as well as from the A30 East and West, via Widdon Down and North Tawton. Wheatland Farm Ecolodges and Cottage sit just outside the pretty Saxon village of Winkleigh. From Winkleigh village, take the A3124 north, continue past the recreation ground on your right. At the sharp bend turn right and follow the signpost towards Chulmleigh.
After about half a mile you will see Fiona's farm shop just to your left. The farm is on the right, about half a mile on from the farm shop. Continue on down the farm track (not through the white gates on the road). Pass our next door neighbour's bungalow and the car park for the ecolodges. Collect your keys from the white farmhouse at the end of the drive. Our front door is down some steps, so call if this is a problem and we'll come out to meet you. We look forward to welcoming you.
