Chose from our selection of five contemporary guest rooms ranging from large doubles and twins to family rooms, sleeping up to four. Each room is decorated to a high standard featuring modern en-suite bathrooms, flat screen TVs and a well stocked hospitality tray with tea, coffee and biscuits. Pets are very welcome to join you on your holiday away - just let us know if you are bringing your four legged friend in advance. Beds are dressed with crisp cotton bed sheets, soft duvets and all rooms have heating which can be individually adjusted. Please note that our rooms are strictly non-smoking. All room rates include a full English breakfast, served every morning in our restaurant area. We also have a range of lighter cooked options available and a buffet of cereals, toast and preserves.
The Boars Head provides food throughout the day from breakfast and bar snacks to evening meals. There is a large bar and restaurant with an open fire which is lit throughout the day in the colder months. Our bar menu features traditional pub favourites and specials menu features a range of culinary delights cooked from fresh local ingredients. We have a selection of vegetarian options available on all menus and can cater for vegans and dairy-free diets. With notice we will prepare any type of dish to suite your tastes so please let us know in advance. Our large bar area is traditional and friendly with a wide variety of cask ales, malts and an extensive wine list. We hold regular pub game events including darts, dominoes, cards and quizzes.
We are set in the ideal location for keen walkers and cyclists surrounding by open moorland, the pennines and a range of hidden caves and waterfalls – all within easy reach of the village. Sporting and leisure activities include pony trekking, mountain climbing, pot holing, fishing and golf.
