About The Cart Shed at Longlands Farm

The Cart Shed at Longlands Farm near Haverfordwest sits in the heart of Pembrokeshire within easy reach of spectacular beaches at Newport Sands, Tenby and Newgale.  The Cart Shed is one of two charming traditional Welsh stone barns all with stunning views towards the Preseli Mountains.  Choose from a wide range of local activities from country walks and fishing to bird watching, horse riding and cycling.  The famous castles of Pembroke, Carew and Manorbier are also nearby.

Longlands Farm is a rural smallholding dating back more than 200 years and surrounded by rolling Pembrokeshire countryside.  Horses are warmly welcomed - we have equestrian facilities onsite and a wide choice of bridleways feature in the local area or enjoy spectacular horse riding on Freshwater West beach.

Cottages are set within beautiful landscaped gardens perfect for relaxing in and enjoying a glass of wine.  Our extensive grounds contain a large attractive duck pond and you'll find ample parking onsite.

Horses Welcome Establishment with the British Horse Society

We are now a Horse Welcome Establishment with the British Horse Society - Bring Your Horse On Holiday - rates are £130 per night per cottage for up to four sharing and £150 per night per cottage for up to five sharing.  Stabling £12 per night per horse to include hay and straw.  Out of season horse holidays are the best, before July and after August, you avoid horrible flies, have quieter beaches as we are in a very popular tourist area and cooler weather.

Dog Friendly

Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement but must sleep in a stable as they are not permitted in the cottages. We also provide dog crates if required, or dogs can sleep in the straw.

Living Space

  • The cosy lounge area has comfortable sofas and a widescreen TV with Freeview and DVD player.
  • The fitted kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, a fridge and all essential kitchen accessories.
  • Oil fired central heating and an electric fire are included.
  • We've also recently added a snooker and pool games room with a full sized snooker table.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

  • The cottage sleeps up to five, in two bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and the other with a set of adult bunk beds and a single bed.
  • The wet room has a shower, wc and a wash basin.

Outside

There are spacious landscaped gardens with picnic benches and a pond where ducks and chickens roam.  A field with horses is adjacent.

Other Things to Note

  • Towels and bed linen are included.
  • Secure lock up for bikes, surfboards, fishing rods and saddles is available.
  • Plenty of parking is onsite.
  • Free WiFi internet access
  • Laundry room.
  • This cottage together with The Corn Loft sleeps nine.

Availability

The Cart Shed is available to book individually sleeping up to 5 guests, or book in conjunction with The Corn Loft to accommodate larger groups of up to 9 guests.  Please contact us by phone if you require accommodation within 48 hours.

Around and About

Oakwood, Folly Farm and Heatherton are an easy distance away too.  So is Manor Park Zoo, where Anna Ryder-Richardson has her animal conservation projects.  You must also experience some of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park's amazing views or even visit the puffins on Skomer Island.

Directions

From the East, follow the M4 to Pembrokeshire.  Follow the A40 through Canaston Bridge Roundabout towards Haverfordwest.  Pass Clerkenhill Adventure Park on your right at the top of the hill.

Take the first right signposted Llysyfran Country Park and Wiston.  Follow the road for about two miles and take the second left signposted Wiston (opposite a pretty cottage called Colby Moor Lane).

You pass council houses on your right in the village of Wiston, the road then bears to the right for Clarbeston Road.  You should now see the village pond on our left.

NOW take the first turning right down a single track road, you will find your cottage at Longlands Farm about one mile down on the left hand side.  Just drive in and we will be there to meet you.
