Surrounded by acres of heathland and set at the foot of the Snowdonian mountain ranges, Tyn Yr Onnen Campsite in Waunfawr is set on a traditional working Welsh hill farm, perfect for enjoying magnificent scenery and outdoor activities.
Our well equipped and pet friendly site offers state of the art facilities for camping including clean toilet/shower blocks, chemical disposal units and 10amp hook up points.
Set off the beaten track, we offer a unique and quiet retreat in an unbeatable Welsh countryside location. Guests are welcome to enjoy our games and TV room and a children’s outdoor play area.
Our site is two and a half hectares and houses a range of well sheltered level pitches. Tourer pitches are available with 10 amp hook up points and we have an array of electric and non-electric grass pitches available.
Campfires are allowed in one camping field and there is plenty of room for barbeques onsite.
Our recently refurbished toilet blocks are immaculately clean and feature free hot showers and baby changing facilities.
There is also ramp access to a disabled wet room and toilet with grab rails and a shower seat.
A utility room with washing up facilities, a fridge and freezer and a washing machine and tumble dryer is available for guests to use.
We are an ideal destination for family and group holidays with wide open space for ball games and a superb outdoor play area for children. Our arcade room is great for all ages and is well equipped with a pool table, video machines and darts boards. In addition there is a relaxing family lounge with table tennis table and a large TV.
Our farm is home to many animals including donkeys, llamas, pigs, chickens, ducks are turkeys. Newborn lambs are born in the spring and guests are more than welcome to meet and pet some of our farm animals or help to collect eggs from the chickens each morning.
Please note that this is a working farm, children and dogs should be supervised at all time.

Set at the foot of the Moel Eilio and Mynydd Mawr mountains with walking trails leading from the campsite in all directions, we are perfect for keen walkers and cyclists of all levels. Skilled walkers and hikers can walk to the top of Snowdon straight from the farm.
The surrounding area has plenty of attractions including ancient castles and historic sites in nearby Caernarfon, Bangor, Beaumaris and Harlech.
There are plenty of outdoor activities including climbing, horse riding, mountain biking, golf courses, sailing, surfing, kayaking and coast steering in Llanberis.

Our campsite is available for long or short stays throughout the year. Arrival for camping and touring is between 12pm and 9pm and the campsite must be vacated on the day of departure by 12pm. If you are running late for arrival please contact us to let us know.
Just off the A4085 between Caernarfon and Beddgelert is the village of Waunfawr. Look for the fish and chip shop, take the turning within 20 metres, then follow the road, bear right and keep going until you reach the farm. The campsite is on your left about a kilometre from the main village road.
