The Newlands Valley is an excellent base for a walking holiday, with a variety of walking routes, including valley walks, ridge walks and fell walks. The village of Braithwaite retains much of its traditional appeal, with the Coledale Beck running through the village with its whitewashed cottages, two shops and two real ale inns. Nearby, Bassenthwaite Lake is one of the most picturesque places in England. Derwent Water and Keswick with its wide range of attractions are also within easy reach.
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
