A 4 Star luxury retreat on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Watermill Cottage is a stone built single storey cottage in the peaceful country village of Little Crakehall. Located adjacent to Bedale Beck and the mill race, the cottage is a short stroll from the village with a great inn serving fine food and drink, a pretty green, a small shop, church and a local bus service. Pets are welcome and the cottage is ideal for families with a cot and highchair available. Walking and cycling trails are direct from your door and facilities include free WiFi and parking.
The cottage has a fenced riverside garden with access to a nearby stream and outdoor table and chairs. (Guests with young children please note the close proximity of accommodation to running water)
The cottage sits on the edge of the mill race near to the historic Grade II listed watermill where a mill was recorded back in the Domesday Survey of 1086. The huge mill wheel is still turning and the mill still produces stone-ground wholemeal flour.
This very peaceful spot on the edge of Crakehall is great for spotting kingfishers from the sitting room window, or watch the moorhens on the millpond. Nearby is an idyllic village green with cricket pitch.
Many guests return again and again to enjoy the cottage and local area in different seasons. Contact us direct for more information on Mill Open Days and Tours.
