About this Bed and Breakfast

Set in private grounds, our delightful guest house in Bowness offers you the charm of a traditional Lakeland home blended with all modern comforts and our welcoming professional service. 

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

We have just two rooms (2 doubles - of which 1 twin can be made available on request) 

Our Superior Double room is bright and spacious with views over the garden and has an en-suite shower room which has been finished to a high standard.

The Classic Double room can be configured as either a double or twin room with access to the separate private house bathroom and wc.

Both bedrooms have a flat screen TV and towels and bathrobes are supplied.

The house bathroom affords a little luxury with its roll top bath and separate large shower.


A delicious Lakeland breakfast awaits you each morning with vegetarian or lighter options if you prefer.

Other Facilities

Sit a while in the comfortable guest lounge where an open fire will warm you on colder days. We offer a large flat screen TV (with Sky channels and DVD library). a selection of books and literature with information about the area and a concert size grand piano for the musically talented visitors.

Wi-Fi access is available and we provide laundry and ironing facilities, packed lunches and storage for walking gear and bikes.

Outside - our garden is a delight which you simply must take time to enjoy.  There is ample private parking in the grounds.


Minimum two night stay at Bank Holidays.  Please note that we only accept children over the age of 8.

Around and About

On the shores of Lake Windermere, Bowness is thriving village and offers visitors a fantastic choice of shops, cafes, pubs and lots of outdoor activities from a leisurely cruise on the Lake to crazy golf, tennis and more strenuous cycling and hiking. Through the summer there are events and concerts.


Exit M6 at junction 36 and follow the A591 to the Lake District.
You will pass by Kendal and at the roundabout need to follow signs for Windermere/ Ambleside.
After about 10 miles you will reach Windermere village, take the first left off the A591 in front of the Windermere Hotel. You will pass the Tourist Information Centre on your left, continue through the village and head down hill towards Bowness.
We are one mile from Windermere Train Station which has direct trains to and from Manchester Airport.
