Situated a short drive from both Wrexham and Llangollen, The West Arms enjoys an idyllic country setting and retains a considerable amount of period features and character. Owned by experienced hoteliers, Geoff and Gill Leigh-Ford, our Inn offers a range of well appointed ensuite rooms, real fires, a choice of dining areas and a riverside garden with outdoor seating areas. Walkers, cyclists, families and couples are all welcome and our accommodation is also pet friendly by arrangement.
Our range of accommodation includes the four poster Howard Room with genuine antique bed and an ensuite with shower. Ideal for romantic breaks, this room offers views over the village. If you are travelling with children, our Bunny Warren suite is ideal for your stay and can accommodate up to two adults and two children. This suite has exposed beams, a lounge and ensuite with bath and shower. The Willow Suite is ideal for couples looking for contemporary accommodation for a short break and has a dark solid wood super king-size bed, a lounge and ensuite with free standing bath.
We also have a basic ensuite double room, a single room with private bathroom, twin ensuite rooms, standard double ensuite rooms, superior rooms and character super king size and twin rooms. All are well equipped with a TV, tea/ coffee making facilities, a telephone, desk, lamp, ironing facilities and an alarm clock.
Our restaurant team includes celebrity Chef Grant Williams (ITV Britain's Best Chef finalist Dec 2011) and we serve produce sourced from a range of excellent local suppliers. Enjoy home grown fruit and veg from Lady Kenyon of Greddington, free range eggs from Josh Williams, Welsh lamb and beef from Dave Keegan of Llanrhaedr ym Mochant and edible flowers from Rosie Davies. Dine in the Front Hall with real fire, the lounge bar, public bar, our 16th Century restaurant or the private Bellingham Dining room. During good weather, our riverside gardens also offer seating for meals and boasts wonderful views over the Berwyns.
Traditional afternoon tea and sandwiches are served throughout the day or take lunch between Midday and 2.30pm. A la carte evening meals are served from 6.30pm to 9pm and we offer a delicious Sunday lunch weekly from Midday to 9pm.
The bar is open each day from early am to late evening and guests are welcome to relax in front of our open log fire. Our range of drinks includes real ales including Oswestry's Stonehouse beer and we also always have a guest ale available.
Weddings and civil ceremonies are welcome and our intimate front reception room with period features can seat up to 40 guests. Our newly refurbished Corn-Wallis suite can seating up to 60 and enjoys stunning views over the Berwyn Mountains. For larger weddings, a marquee can be arranged for up to 250 guests. Formal and informal conferences are welcome and we offer packages of 1 hour to 24 hours including the Corn-Wallis Suite and syndicate rooms. We can provide catering and team building days are welcome.
We are pet friendly by prior arrangement at an extra charge of £8.50 per pet per night. Please note that pets are not allowed in the formal dining room.

Nearby attractions include Chirk Castle (11 miles), Erddig Hall (20 miles), Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall (9 miles) and the Chirk Aqueduct (11 miles). Local amenities such as a Spar shop and chemist can be found a ten minute drive away.
