Welcome to Brecks Cottage Bed and Breakfast near Newark. Situated in a stunning rural location in the heart of Nottinghamshire, our delightful family run property offers beautifully appointed accommodation ideal for couples on a romantic break and families visiting Sherwood Forest or Newark Showground.
All our guest rooms are well equipped with an ensuite shower room, a flat screen TV with Freeview service, a hair dryer, tea/ coffee making supplies, towels, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries. Guests can also enjoy wonderful views over the surrounding Nottinghamshire countryside.
The Pink Room and The Peach Room are both spacious double guest rooms situated within the main cottage. The Mint Room and The Primrose Room are set within our 17th century barn conversion and both have a ground floor twin bedroom with ensuite shower room along with a mezzanine level double bedroom. These upper levels are accessible via a fixed wooden ladder with handrails so only suitable for fully mobile guests. The ground floor accommodation however has been designed to to suitable for people with reduced mobility.
We serve a freshly prepared, locally sourced breakfast at a time of your choosing with ingredients including bacon and sausage from our local butchers and free range eggs from a nearby farm. We offer a full cooked breakfast with a choice of up to six items or lighter options such as a breakfast muffin with scrambled or poached eggs, bacon or smoked salmon. Alternatively, we can provide a continental breakfast and a smaller breakfast of up to three items for children. Special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement and we hold the top Food Hygiene Rating of five.
Arrival time is between 5pm and 7pm and check out time is by 10am. Single occupancy stays are accepted at £70 per night - contact us for further details.
There are three pubs in the surrounding area which are ideal for evening meals. Local attractions include the Aqua Sauna complex at Centre Parcs which is a twenty minute drive away, Rufford Abbey Country Park, the 3800 acre Clumber Park, Sherwood Pines with onsite Go Ape course, the world famous Sherwood Forest, Newark Showground, Newark Castle and White Post Farm.
The nearest train stations are at Newark or Retford. If you are arriving by public transport, you will need to use a taxi to get here and to travel around as we are not on a bus route. If you are travelling by car, please use postcode NG23 6LZ, but note that this will take you to Breck Farm which is 100 metres east of Brecks Cottage (note the similar names).
