We are ideally located in Ravenscar (at the southern end of Robin Hoods Bay) and we have wonderful walks on the Cleveland Way, an old railway line and several cycle paths on our doorstep. As we are situated halfway between Scarborough and Whitby (10 & 12 miles respectively), we are perfectly located for exploring the area.
Set in 28 acres of farmland in the National Park, Smugglers Rock is blessed with stunning sea and countryside views. On our land we have friendly Shetland ponies, highland cows, chickens, geese and ducks. The B&B is ideally situated to explore the coast and the moors.
Travelling from the south, head towards Scarborough, then follow the A171 towards Whitby. At Cloughton (about 6 miles out of Scarborough) take the right hand turn marked Ravenscar. Keep on this road towards the village for about 5 miles, then up the hill towards Ravenscar you'll spot a disused windmill on the right. Smugglers Rock is opposite on the left. Drive past it, and continue into the car park around the back. The guest house entrance is back towards the front of the house. From the North, head towards Whitby and take the A171 towards Scarborough. About 9 miles out of Whitby on the left hand bend you'll spot the Falcon Inn. Turn left here, then left again and follow the road to the bottom of the hill. Turn left to Ravenscar, and follow above at the disused windmill.
