Nestled below Ainthorpe Rigg in the upper Esk Valley at the bottom of Danby Dale on the outskirts of Danby village; right in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors and only 13 miles from Whitby, The sandstone house dates back nearly 200 years and still has original beamed ceilings. Our Bedrooms, both have washbasins, beverage trays, hairdryers and radio/CD alarm clocks. Each room has its own private facilities - a shower room or a bathroom - the choice goes with the first booking. Both bedrooms have beautiful panoramic views. We have a twin room, and a family room with a double and single bed and guest bed if necessary.Our fully centrally heated non-smoking establishment offers a lounge with colour TV/DVD. Children of all ages are always welcome, and we can provide a cot and high chair if required. We have a separate dining room where breakfast is served.
We are within walking distance of an historic coaching inn, where freshly prepared meals are available 7 days a week. The North Yorkshire Moors Information centre is situated in Danby, where information on walks and other activities can be obtained. We have an indoor cycle store for security, available for our guests who bring their own bikes, and also have plenty of car parking spaces available.
From cross roads in the centre of Danby Village (next to Duke of Wellington Public House). Travel down the village, over the railway and River Esk. Continue on this road up the small rise and take the Fryup junction on the left (opposite the fire station). Follow this road up past the Fox and Hounds Pub until you reach the Tennis Courts. Take the small track on the right . Rowantree Farm is signed from here.
