About this Holiday Cottage

Brookwood Cottage is a detached stone built cottage in the village of Thornton-le-Dale, close to Pickering in the North York Moors National Park. This cottage sleeps five people and has three bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single bedroom as well as a family bathroom. The cottage also has a large kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room. To the outside of this cottage there is a car port for one car, along with off road parking for one car and a garden with furniture. Located within an area renowned for stunning countryside, Brookwood Cottage is an ideal family cottage.

Around and About

Thornton-le-Dale is a beautiful village, two miles to the east of Pickering in the North York Moors National Park and is a charming jumble of streams, paths and houses scattered around a green with its market cross and old stocks. Thornton-le-Dale has a variety of shops, public houses and tea-rooms and nearby Pickering is just two miles away with a more comprehensive range of amenities and its famous North York Moors Steam Railway. To the north of the village is the Forestry Commission's Dalby Forest and this has several excellent nature trails to be enjoyed by all abilities and ages. This area has a wealth of attractions to be enjoyed and is a fabulous base for a holiday any time of year.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
