The owners are both from farming backgrounds and pride their selves on offering friendly, 5 star B&B accommodation in a beautiful setting, and the large gardens are perfect for relaxing in during the summer months.
Guests can enjoy a substantial breakfast from an extensive and varied breakfast menu. Served in our stunning breakfast room, which features period furnishings and overlooks the large rear garden. There is an optional evening dinner/Supper available. The local area is steeped in history. Numerous attractions can be found nearby such as Newburgh Priory, Shandy Hall, the abbeys of Byland, Rievaulx and Fountains, Castle Howard, Nunnington, Benningborough and Newby Halls. Several racecourses are close at hand, as are various antique and art exhibitions, whilst York is just 16 miles away.
There are 3 double bedrooms at first floor level, all with delightful views over the grounds. Bedroom 1 is a twin room, bright and airy, with original features and a private bathroom. Bedroom 2 is a king size bedroom with en-suite facilities. Bedroom 3 is a exceptionally large room with a sitting area and large en-suite bathroom, with bath & separate shower cubicle. All rooms have hospitality trays, a colour TV, video player, hair-dryer and trouser press. There are period bedside lights giving the rooms a soft charm and relaxing style.
There are lots of lovely walks directly from the house , down the lanes and in the fields around the lake. We offer excellent 5 star B&B accommodation. We have private parking facilities, a private garden and a romantic log fire in our communal sitting room. Guests will have an intriguing and unforgettable time exploring the history of Coxwold.
