Offering a unique bed and breakfast experience in Lanivet village on the edge of Bodmin Moor, St Benet's Abbey dates from 1411, and has been sympathetically restored with eight charming all ensuite rooms. We are a welcoming family run guest house in a pretty village location, with a delightful village inn, a Norman church, a little village shop and a post office all within walking distance. St Benet's is the perfect year round retreat for couples - chocolates, flowers and wine can all be arranged for that extra special stay, please do request when booking.
The Abbey sits halfway along the scenic Saints Way, an old medieval walking trail, and is perfectly placed on the edge of Bodmin for exploring Cornwall. St Austell Bay, the Eden Project, Padstow and Tintagel with its famous coastal castle ruins steeped in Arthurian legend are all an easy drive away. Ample private off street parking is available onsite, and with our attractive function room space and fully licensed bar we are perfect for weddings and a range of events and celebrations.
We have a choice of 8 guest rooms - 5 Superior rooms, 2 Standard rooms, 1 small standard room and another room which can be configured as a twin room on request.
Guest rooms all have their own unique style, sympathetic to the period and with all modern essentials including ensuite bathrooms, full central heating, colour TVs, tea and coffee making facilities and hair dryers. Families are welcomed, with travel cots available on request. We can also happily supply Z beds for a small extra fee (£15 per night for guests 14 years and under, £20 for guests over 14 years). Room 9 has our best value rates and is a cosy standard double.

Guests travelling by car from the M5 motorway, at Exeter, merge left onto the A30 clearly signposted for Bodmin and Okehampton. Continue along the A30 for about 65 miles. Exit the A30 at the sign for Lanivet village onto the A389. Lanivet village and St Benet's Abbey is only half a mile north of the A30.
Visitors arriving by train - fast regular train services from Exeter St David's run to nearby Bodmin Parkway. Lanivet and St Benet's are only 3 miles from Bodmin, 11 miles from St Austell, 10 miles from Liskeard and 16 miles from Newquay.
