Around and About

Wrelton is a small village just three miles from the historic market town of Pickering. Its stone built cottages are clustered around two village greens where the annual summer fete is held every August. Although the village has no shops, it has an excellent pub which serves meals and is the hub of the village. Surrounded by the countryside of the North York Moors, Wrelton offers great walking from the doorstep. Nearby are the market towns of Helmsley and Malton, and just three miles away are the steam railway and Pickering Castle. There are a wealth of places to visit from this great base including Castle Howard, the historic city of York with its famous Minster and the fishing port of Whitby on the east coast.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
